Minutes of the Berks County Green Party Meeting

Meeting called to order : 6:45PM
Present: Alexsandria Ortiz, Justin Hill, Jessica Ashman, Shirley Fisher
I. Election Talk
A. Locally and Nationally
II. History of the Berks Green Party
A. Jessica told Justin and Alexsandria the history of the Berks Green party since her involvement, and where they are today.
B. Handed out Berks Green Party, PA State, and Folmer Act brochures for them to distribute.
III. To Do List for Berks Greens
A. Start a newsletter
B. Someone to continually update the Berks County website, and Facebook page
C. Advertise and make revenue by BCGP tshirts and bumper stickers.
D. Have Trash pick ups throughout the County on a regular basis, especially clean up parks and city of Reading.
E. Fundraisers - Statewide and Locally
F. Elect Officers - Chair, Co-Chair, Treasurer, Secretary
IV. Why Green?
A. Justin and Alexandria both are registered Greens.
B. Both gave good reasons as to why they are Green.
1. Examples - the Green Party is non-corporate, it's the party for future generations.
2. Major frusturation with all 4 members - lack of media attention!
V. General State of Politics
A. Good discussion.
V. Change of Meeting Locale
A. Shirley and Jessica have decided to chage meeting locale back to the Goggle Works.
1. More space.
2. Hopes to attract more people.
3. Both Justin and Alexsandria agreed it would be a better location.
4. Jessica will contact Matt Cleveland to make sure this change is made on the BCGP website and Facebook page.
