Minutes of the Berks Green Party Meeting

(located inside the Goggle Works)
201 Washington St.
Present: Jessica Ashman, Shirley Fisher, Josef Reeves, Anna Sanchez, David Amato
Meeting Called to Order: 6:40 PM
A. Greens need to get on ballot and be able to vote in the primaries.
B. 1-800-Target Voters
C. Use social media
D. Target young people
E. PAC - helps to raise money for candidates.
A. Would like to be able to run the Berks County Green Party website.
B. Jessica will be in touch with Matt Clevland to see if he can take over.
A. Build treasury by fundraisng
B. We need a new treasurer.
A. Go to public events, hand them out.
A. Would like to start a community bank
1. Community owned.
B. Founded Reading Green.
1. Berks Greens would work with him and vice versa.
A. Aaron Thomas considering the position of Chair for Berks County Greens.
What to Accomplish by Next Meeting
A. Get people there, use social media.
B. Find out how to get Green Party on ballots.
C. Reach out to CRF (Designer Palace, West Reading)
D. David will be in touch with Kriten (manager of West Reading Main Street.)
E. Create a Meet up Group.
A. Anna is willing to be Berks County Greens secretary.
B. Jessica will switch her position to Co-Chair.
New Meeting Space
A. Tea Factory, 58 Willow St.
1. Politics friendly.
2. Anna will find out if we can meet there.
A. Make petition to State Board of Elections on unfair representation.
A. Attended meetings in the past, expressed interest in possible running for local office.
B. Shirley will reach out to him.
Berks County Greens Focus
A. Express more of a message of Sustainability and Revitalization.
B. Bring back the Reading Railroad.
C. Revitalize Reading.
D. Build image first, candidates will come.
